Discover Escorca
The municipality of Escorca is located on the northwest coast of Mallorca and hides some of the island's most valuable treasures. Treasures that speak about the sea and the mountains, of peace and tranquillity, of the calm and wildness of the sea, of contemplation and adventure. It is the only municipality in Mallorca that does not have a town centre.
Escorca, Lluc, Cala Tuent or Sa Calobra are some of the Mallorcan jewels that can be found in the mountains of the north coast of the island. An area of extraordinary beauty. Fauna and flora are important in this area.
For example, one of the jewels in the crown is the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, which has its source in the mountains of Lluc and flows to the sea through channels of stone and erosion as far as Sa Calobra.
Or the Gorg Blau, an artificial reservoir in the heart of the Tramuntana mountains, which can be reached after kilometres of driving along a winding road. The deep blue lake lies picturesquely directly below the Puig Major and serves as a water reservoir for the island capital Palma.
And of course Lluc, which means "holy forest" and has become a place of pilgrimage and enclave par excellence in Mallorca. In this place of pilgrimage, the Verge de Lluc, the Moreneta, is venerated. 525 metres high, absolute spirituality and a unique beauty.
Some of Mallorca's highest peaks, Puig Major, Puig Massanella, Puig Tomir or Puig Roig, are also located in this municipality.
Escorca is ideal for the summer days, but in our opinion it gains in authenticity and magic during the winter months. With the cold comes a special peace and quiet. The snowy Tramuntana mountains, the silence, the mountain and the sea as the only witnesses of the relationship between nature and human.
Between all these mountains, the landscapes seem grandiose. The old roads, dotted with oak woods, fountains and corners, make this sparsely populated municipality one of the most incredible areas of the island.
La Pérgola, invite you to lose yourself between this unique nature and to get to know another Mallorca.
