Fabulous short break

This is our third stay at la Pergola and was a lovely short break before the Easter rush. We upgraded to half board before we travelled and feel we got value for money. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly…

Tripadvisdor Review – April 2019

We stayed here whilst walking the GR221 for a little bit of luxury and that is exactly what we got. Watching the sunset made it extra special.

Route of almond trees in flower by Majorca

Route of almond trees in flower by Majorca

Also known as "the Mallorcan snow", the entire island is covered in white with the flowering of almond trees during the months of January and February. Imported from the Romans centuries ago, the almond tree is the first to bloom when the climate begins to be milder, makes the island's farms the main attraction, and also announces that spring is getting closer and closer. There is no doubt that this visual spectacle of light and pinkish tones, and the good climate turn the landscape into a real wonder.

Many artists, including painters, photographers and writers, enjoy this inspirational print, but it has also aroused interest among tourists. This typical Mallorcan phenomenon attracts hundreds of visitors who are looking for higher quality tourism alternatives and discovering the other Mallorca.

This Mallorcan wonder can be found throughout the interior of the island, you only need to drive by secondary roads and you can find these fields of almond trees so beautiful. We know that there are countless roads to take, so we have made a compilation of the perfect route of the almond trees of Mallorca.

Sóller and Bunyola

It should be noted that these two villages are the largest producers of almonds on the island. We recommend visiting the towns by train from Palma, although you can also do it by car, as you will be able to observe one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Tramuntana mountain range with an endless number of fields of almond, orange and lemon trees. The perfect opportunity to enjoy the landscape covered in almond blossoms and also discover what the villages have to offer.

Puig de Randa

If what you're looking for in a panoramic view, you're in the right place. From Puig de Randa you will be able to observe a white landscape of the Pla de Mallorca, populated with almond trees, and where you will be able to enjoy the nature that the island offers us from only one point of view. It also has a family restaurant with a great culinary offer, the perfect excuse to spend the day with the family and contemplate the almond trees in bloom. During the journey to Randa you will cross authentic villages such as Algaida, until you reach the charming place of Randa.

Son Servera

Our route continues to the southwest of the island to Son Servera. In addition to being able to contemplate a beautiful landscape, you can also visit one of the largest fairs of Almond Flower. During the first weekend of February, a 13th century farm will host the fair which will have a variety of stands where you can taste products made with almonds, almond wood and see the tools that are used for the harvest during the month of August and September each year. It is a traditional fair and very touristic, which aims to promote this fruit.

Son Servera

And to put the icing on the cake for such a marvellous day, we stopped in some traditional forn of the village to taste the typical sweets of the season: like the almond cat or panellets.

There is no doubt that this is one of the most beautiful times of the year, so it is ideal to take a weekend break and discover one of the most spectacular and beautiful nature of Mallorca. Many hotels keep their doors open during this beautiful season, perfect for enjoying a carefree weekend and discovering the different almond routes.
