Enjoy the beaches of Andratx during Easter Week
Easter Week, especially if it falls at the end of March and beginning of April, is synonymous with the start of spring. The good weather - except for occasional instances - begins to be felt, and the locals know it's better to make the most of their beaches and coves now, before the season truly begins and the heat, along with an excess of visitors, make it a bit more challenging.
In Andratx, the beaches and coves are among the most beautiful in this area of the island. Moreover, the municipality can boast of having coastlines for all tastes.
From La Pérgola, we want to take a little tour so you can get to know them and decide which one to visit first.
The Most Beautiful Beaches on the Coast of Andratx
Cala en Basset tops this ranking for being one of the most appreciated by visitors and locals alike. It is a rocky cove, located several kilometers northeast of the popular Sant Elm.
We recommend, whenever possible, arriving here by boat, but there is also a beautiful trail for hikers, just two kilometers long, that leads there.
It is a relatively narrow beach, about four meters wide, and has a nearby pine forest for picnicking. Easter Week is the best time to visit, although it's better to do so with children aged 10 and up.
During the summer, bathers take advantage of making a sort of mud with sand and water and spreading it over their bodies to enjoy its beautifying properties.
Cala Blanca is very close to the port of Andratx, barely 3 kilometers away. It is a small cove of round stones and rocks formed by a natural inlet between the stone walls of the cliffs where it is located. Accessing it is very easy, but it is usually not very crowded, especially during Easter holidays.
The water at Cala Blanca is clean and crystal clear, with a rocky bottom alternating with sandy patches. It has hardly any waves and is surrounded by pine trees and shrubs, a true paradise that no one should miss.
The next stop on our list of beaches is Cala en Cucó, which belongs to the Sa Dragonera Natural Park and is therefore a protected area. Its waves are moderate, so it's not difficult to see beginner surfers or windsurfers practicing their skills, and it is surrounded by mountains. Access must be by boat, which is why it is not too crowded.
Cala Marmassén is a semi-urban beach, with moderate waves and very white sand. During high season, it tends to be very busy, but in March or April, it is very pleasant to take a walk on the sand and enjoy the sea views. It is very easy to reach by car and has parking for about 50 cars, which is unguarded. It is a beautiful and comfortable beach due to the abundance of services available on the nearby streets, and it is very nice to visit with young children.
Did we miss any beaches on our tour? In this post, you'll surely find other very interesting places to visit during these holidays.
