
Discovering Es Capdellà
This charming village in the southwest of the island is frequented by tourists, and the reason is obvious: the amazing views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Hidden between the Puig de Sa Crane and with around 1,000 inhabitants, this village does not offer a great variety of activities, but it does offer places and history to discover. Surrounded by winding roads, forests and spectacular mountain scenery, here you can enjoy one of the most enchanting views of the whole of Mallorca. The name of the place is very peculiar, which in Catalan means "at the end of there", and years ago was the concentration of agricultural labourers from the possessions of the bishop of Barcelona. Just 20 minutes from the coastal town of Port Andratx and many beautiful beaches, it is undoubtedly a perfect excursion with children for the weekend and spend the day discovering what this place has to offer.
Cultural Route
Like many other villages in the Serra de Tramuntana, this village has village houses with stone facades, country houses with a unique design and traditional charming estates. In exchange for other villages, this one also has an international community, and keeps the atmosphere lively throughout the year. It is essential to visit Castell Son Claret, which has become a hotel whose origin dates back to 1800, and possibly you can also see traces of Arab and Roman occupations through the cobblestone streets of Es Capdellà.
Cycling and trekking
With more than 150,000 cyclists a year, there is no doubt that Mallorca is a paradise for all those who decide to discover every corner of the island on foot. One of the most popular routes is the route from Es Capdellà to Esporles, which covers 65 kilometres of road surrounded by nature, passing through Puigpunyent, Esporles and reaching the coastal villages of Banyalbufar and Estellencs. Here you can find some of the most beautiful cycling routes on the island. There are also alternative activities to cycling, such as hiking or trekking, for all those who want to discover the village and nature on foot.

Despite being a small place, it is home to some of the best restaurants on the island with an excellent reputation and some of them even have a Michelin star. Among them you will be able to taste the most innovative dishes in Zaranda or the Olivera where you will be able to enjoy a totally unique gastronomic experience. Parties and markets
Unlike other neighboring villages does not offer a weekly market, but an annual market very popular among islanders and tourists. The "fira de las feines de tardor" is held during a weekend in November and you can find products of the time such as oil, fritters, as well as traditional craft products with many recreational activities for the youngest of the family surrounded by music, gastronomy and much more.
Due to its few inhabitants and the difficult journey by car, it is advisable to stay in one of the nearby towns such as Puerto de Andratx. The privileged location offers numerous cafés and bars, restaurants, as well as small shops and designer shops of all kinds. The locality has numerous apartments and hotels to stay with friends, as a couple or for those who decide to spend a weekend with family and children and enjoy a few days to remember discovering what Es Capdellà has to offer.
